Today is Saturday, and another beautiful day. No rain for a whole week now I believe. However, last night and this morning have definitely been a little bit chillier than usual. In the sun, all is well...but in the shade, or the hostel it’s a little on the chilly side today.
Moritz and I baked our official third loaf of bread successfully today. We made the dough last night with almonds, dried fruit, and chocolate covered plums or something like that. We try to change things up a little bit. We decided we need more salt, but other than that it is our most delicious loaf so far.
A few people worked today, but they were all finished before noon which was really nice. It’s a little too cold to go to the beach, so instead we are playing a rugby game in the park later after all the people who worked today cook and nap.
Last night Louisa and I made a Thai food dish with the assistance of Air and Goong. Air, Goong, and Tim are fairly new, and they are from Thailand. We tried their dinner the other night, and it was SO delicious. So, we asked them to teach us how to make it. It was really fun, and it was so delicious. Louisa and enjoyed a pretty awesome dinner together. I will put up some pictures!
Lastly, today was Simon’s last day at the hostel. He was originally going to be in NZ for 4 months, then changed his ticket for another few months, then changed it again, and now I think he has been here for a year or so. However, he said he finally felt he was missing home, and his heart told him it was okay, and that it was time to go back to Germany. He has been at A1 almost as long as me though, and is a really nice guy. He was very emotional leaving because we have all become so close at the hostel. He wants to go home, but he said it was so hard because he wanted to stay with all of us. He had people sign his NZ flag to take home. I am one of the few who got to sign because he decided he did not want anyone from Germany to sign because there are SO many, and that is where he is from. I was the first from the USA to sign the flag :)
Hope all is well back home :) Have a good weekend!
