It is September 9th, and I made it to LA. I flew in yesterday, after a 5 or so hour flight. The guy next to me on the plane lives in Marietta, has a wife and daughter, and coincidentally was flying to Australia. He is going to a convention for work, but was going out early to see a few sights in Sydney. Since we are both headed so far away, we ended up having a lot to chat about. He was very energetic, and we wished each other luck on our trips as we left the plane.
Then my Aunt Sue picked me up. We headed to her house and shortly after our friend David, and her friend, Sal, came over. We talked for a bit, and then took a nice long night walk to their friend, Sue Moore's, hot dog truck. She has started this thing where she sells different kinds of organic hot dogs, and goes around in her cart. We all got hot dogs, I had 2 different kinds of mustard on mine, & enjoyed the lovely cool weather in LA.
After we went to a wine tasting right near by. However, I did not participate in the wine tasting. Apparently it is a thing this place does every Thursday night in Silver Lake, which is where my Aunt lives. People from the neighborhood and around the area gather. It is a social thing, and you get glass number 1, 2, and 3. You exchange for a new glass of wine as you finish the last one. Everyone had many thoughts on the smell and taste of each wine. I, however, thought they all just smelled like wine.
Finally we got home. I was tired. I went to bed, and woke up at 8:45 this morning. I was expecting to stay home, but my aunt suggested I come see the studio. Now I am in the Chelsea Lately studio writing my blog. The people are nice, but things are crazy. Everyone overhears each others conversations and yells their thoughts at each other from their offices. Inappropriate things have already occurred. It must be quite entertaining to work here. I met Heather again...one of the ladies at the Chelsea stand up show. And I have actually been chatting the most with, Josh....who also performed at the standup show. He is very nice, and funny. I was writing my blog when they came in and asked me to be an extra in a scene. I am now in the background of a pot drug dealing scene for Chelsea. I even had to sign a release form, so who knows...you might catch a tiny glimpse of me on TV at some point.
In a few hours we will leave, maybe see a movie, and cook a summer pasta later tonight with the same old gang again. Hope all is well in the ATL, PA, and wherever else people are :)
