Sunday at the markets

Well, today was the day of the markets. There are three busy markets going in Wellington on Sundays, and maybe Saturdays too...I'm not sure. Even though it was cold and rainy, Sacha pointed out to me people in Wellington go no matter what the weather is, because if they waited for it to be sunny they might never get there. Plus, if you wait half an hour, the weather will probably change. This is very true, and different from the ATL. I have already experienced snow, ice, rain, hail, and beautiful sunny days. Sometimes two or three of those things in one day.

Anyway, we woke up and Elinor went to her cousins birthday. Sacha took me, and Rewa, her soon to be sister in law, to the local Wellington markets. The first market is outside with all the fruits and vegetables. It was raining and cold, but I had my layers, and my new handy rain jacket on top. The only thing I really need now are the rain ("gum") boots.

Second was the indoor market with cheeses, bread, pastries, and some fruits etc. They make sandwiches, and I went to a stand where a guy made his own crepes. I had a cinnamon sugar one, and it was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. Between the three of us we had a brownie, a cherry pastry, some DELICIOUS cheese, dumplings, and probably something else. We shared and tried. It wasn't all free, but it was worth it to get a taste of the local stuff.

The last market was also indoor, which sold more of the handcrafted local stuff...and some other sweets. We were out all morning and afternoon. It was pretty amazing.

Rewa is getting married to Sacha's brother, Simon. We also went wedding dress shopping.

Now I am back in bed once again, and tomorrow will be the day to see if I can get a working holiday visa. And the cats sleep with me, which is pretty cool!

That's all for now
