The Journey Begins.....

My friend Jacob, from Hong Kong, and I decided to travel some of the North island together. There is not much phone service or internet access...so I will probably not be writing or adding pictures to the blog until I return to Hastings. However, at the moment we have made it to Rotorua...and there is a McDonalds with free wifi. I am using it to write this, and put up these 5 pictures.
Our first night we were on a peninsula. There was no camping on the beach, so we were on a quest to find a place to stay. A friendly farmer let us drive up into his hills, and clearly stated we could sleep with “his cows and his sheep.” That is exactly what we did.
Besides the cow poop and strange spiky things in the grass, oh...and the insane wind storm that night and the cows and sheep mooing and baahhhing all night long...all was well. It was a bad night sleep, but quite the experience. It was gorgeous! I’ll write more when I can :)

  1. This looks fun, and with all of the cows so open about their poo, you should feel right at home!

  2. Jacob should be happy. Instead of the cows coming home, you went to the cows home. Love you.
